Report: Iago Aspas close to Sevilla move

Reports claim that Liverpool forward Iago Aspas is close to joining Spanish side Sevilla on loan.

Liverpool forward Iago Aspas is reportedly close to joining Spanish side Sevilla.

The 26-year-old moved to Liverpool from Celta Vigo last summer, but struggled to settle during his first season in England, scoring just one league goal for the Merseyside club.

According to reports in Spain, Sevilla and Liverpool have reached an agreement that will see Aspas move to the Estadio Ramon on an initial loan deal, with an option to make the move permanent next summer.

Aspas scored 12 La Liga goals for Celta during the 2012-13 campaign.
