Norwich City have won the race to sign Coventry City's highly-rated youngster James Maddison for an undisclosed fee.
The 19-year-old has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs over recent weeks, including Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
One report claimed that the Reds had in fact made contact with Coventry regarding the availability of the midfielder at some stage this evening.
However, it is the Canaries that have secured Maddison's services on a deal that will run until the summer of 2019.
"We're delighted to sign James as he is a fantastic prospect who has already made a mark at Coventry at such a young age," Norwich manager Alex Neil told the club's official website.
"He has real potential to develop, making this deal one we're really pleased to get over the line."
Neil also confirmed that Maddison will remain on loan with the League One Sky Blues until the end of the season.
