Newcastle United plan Hatem Ben Arfa contract extension

Newcastle United plan improved contract terms for French playmaker Hatem Ben Arfa to fend off interest from Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports.

Newcastle United will reportedly offer Hatem Ben Arfa a new contract this summer to fend off interest from Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is a big fan of Ben Arfa and asked Alan Pardew about the winger's availability in January.

PSG have also been liked with a move to bring the French international back to Ligue 1 but have an embarrassment of riches in wide areas.

Pardew is desperate to keep his creative force and will offer Ben Arfa improved terms to stay at St James' Park, according to The Mirror.

The 25-year-old has been out injured since aggravating a hamstring problem against Fulham in December.
