Liverpool have announced that centre-back Rhys Williams has joined Blackpool on a season-long loan deal.
The 21-year-old spent the first portion of the 2021-22 season on loan at Swansea City but only made seven appearances for the club before returning to Merseyside.
Williams scored two goals and set up one more in 10 Premier League 2 games last term, but he did not play a single game for the senior side under Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds have therefore allowed Williams to depart temporarily for Blackpool, who were promoted back to the Championship last season.
"I'm so happy to be here and I want to show everyone what I can do this season. I'm really looking forward to getting started," Williams told the official Blackpool website.
The England Under-21 international was a key fixture of Liverpool's first team in the 2020-21 season, making 19 appearances in all competitions, including seven starts in the Premier League.
Williams also featured in all of the Reds' Champions League group-stage games that year, with the trio of Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez spending a good chunk of the season in the treatment room.
The defender follows the likes of Conor Bradley, Owen Beck, Billy Koumetio and James Balagizi out on loan from Liverpool for the 2022-23 campaign.
