Liverpool warned off Alexandre Lacazette

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas insists that Alexandre Lacazette will not leave the club, after reports emerged that Liverpool were trying to sign the French striker.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has said that teams should forget about signing Alexandre Lacazette, after reports emerged that Liverpool were trying to acquire the French striker.

The 23-year-old has attracted the interest of some of Europe's biggest clubs after scoring 19 goals in 20 Ligue 1 games this season.

However, Aulas has insisted that Lacazette is going nowhere in January.

"I don't think there will be any movement for [Lacazette]. Our goal is to become a top European club in the next five years, and that's why we don't want to sell him," the Daily Star quotes him as saying.

"I spoke with Man City, but it was about other topics and not a transfer. There will be no departures in the winter and I also think the same in the summer."

Lacazette said on Friday that he would be open to playing in England.
