Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch reportedly has no plans to push for a summer exit away from Anfield.

Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch reportedly has no desire to depart Anfield during the summer transfer window.

The Netherlands international has endured a frustrating period in his career, initially at Bayern Munich where he was barely used by either Julian Nagelsmann or Thomas Tuchel.

That subsequently led to Liverpool being able to agree a deal with the German giants for €40m, giving the 21-year-old an opportunity to kick-start his career.

To a certain extent, that is what has materialised, with Gravenberch being used on 34 occasions by Jurgen Klopp across all competitions this season.

However, just 20 of those appearances have come from the starting lineup, while Gravenberch has only chipped in with four goals and two assists.

Klopp exit adds to uncertainty

Liverpool are on the brink of ending the process to find a replacement for Klopp, with it being revealed on Friday night that a compensation package had been agreed for Feyenoord boss Arne Slot.

The remainder of negotiations are expected to be a formality with Slot having already publicly acknowledged that he wants to become the next manager of Liverpool.

Ahead of his arrival, the futures of some of Liverpool's stars, including Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, are very much in the air, and reports have indicated that the same may be the case for Gravenberch.

Nevertheless, according to Sky Sport Deutschland reporter Florian Plettenberg, who was commenting on X, Gravenberch is eager to remain on Merseyside.

Gravenberch is said to be determined to prove himself under Slot, a manager that he would have played against when he was at Ajax and Slot was with AZ Alkmaar and Feyenoord.

Is Gravenberch attracting interest from elsewhere?

Plettenberg suggests that teams from Turkey have been monitoring the situation, the assumption being that they would target a loan deal over a permanent move.

With Gravenberch costing the equivalent of £34m, Liverpool would not be prepared to make a substantial loss on a player who is on a contract until 2028.

As it stands, it is unclear whether Slot will target any new midfielders of his own. While Thiago Alcantara will almost certainly leave on a free transfer, Stefan Bajcetic will effectively be like a new player having missed the majority of this campaign through injury.

Slot also has other areas of the pitch to strengthen, including the middle of his defence, while a new centre-forward may be on his radar given the inconsistency of Darwin Nunez.
