Liverpool loan Ben Woodburn to Sheffield United

Liverpool confirm that Ben Woodburn has been allowed to join Sheffield United on a season-long loan deal.

Liverpool have confirmed that Ben Woodburn has joined Sheffield United on a season-long loan deal.

Woodburn is highly regarded by Jurgen Klopp and was kept at Anfield during the most recent campaign, but just two appearances were made in all competitions.

That has resulted in the 18-year-old being allowed to spend next season out on loan, with Sheffield United edging out Aston Villa in the race to sign the Wales international.

Woodburn has already won seven caps at senior level for his country, and will hope to enhance his chances of more opportunities with the Dragons by making an impact at Bramall Lane.

The attacker could potentially feature when the Blades open their Championship campaign against Swansea City on Saturday.
