Liverpool have opened talks with Anderlecht over a potential deal for Samuel Bastien, according to reports.
The 19-year-old midfielder is understood to have caught the eye of manager Jurgen Klopp, with Liverpool interested in a £4m move for the youngster.
Bastien spent last season on loan with Avellino in Italy, and the Serie B outfit are thought to have an option to make that deal permanent.
However, the Daily Mail reports that Liverpool now lead the race to sign the Belgium Under-21 international having held initial discussions about the player in March.
The Reds have already brought in goalkeeper Loris Karius from Mainz this summer, while Joel Matip and Marko Grujic will also join up with the team having agreed deals earlier this year.
