Liverpool could reportedly launch a last-minute move for Preston North End defender Ben Davies.
Jurgen Klopp's options at centre-back are currently restricted to Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams, with Jordan Henderson often being required to fill in during Liverpool's defensive crisis.
With Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Fabinho and Joel Matip all out of action, Klopp has confirmed that the Reds are looking to bolster their defensive ranks before the transfer window closes on Monday.
The likes of Issa Diop, Romain Saiss and Shkodran Mustafi have all been linked with moves to Anfield, but according to the Daily Mail, Preston defender Davies is now a target.
Reports emerged earlier this week claiming that the 25-year-old - who will become a free agent in the summer - had signed a pre-contractual agreement with Celtic, but Liverpool are supposedly trying to steal a march on the £2m-rated defender.
Davies has turned out 19 times in the Championship for Preston this term, and any deal with Liverpool would reportedly see Sepp van den Berg head in the other direction.
