Liverpool defender Sepp van den Berg is reportedly close to leaving the Reds on loan, with clubs in Belgium, Switzerland and Germany all interested.

Liverpool are reportedly prepared to allow out-of-favour defender Sepp van den Berg to leave the club on loan in the January transfer window.

The teenage centre-back is yet to line up in Jurgen Klopp's team this season despite injuries to Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip.

The likes of Nat Phillips, Rhys Williams and makeshift centre-back Fabinho are all preferred to Van den Berg, whose only appearances this season have come for the Under-23s team.

According to Goal, Liverpool chiefs will not stand in the 19-year-old's way if he wants to secure a temporary move away this month.

The report adds that the Dutch centre-back has garnered interest from several teams across Europe, with clubs in Belgium, Switzerland and Germany already holding talks with Liverpool over a January move.

Van den Berg - who was an unused substitute in September's EFL Cup win over Lincoln City - has already made four appearances for the senior Liverpool side.
