Liverpool are reportedly readying a £7.5m bid to lure Fabian Delph away from Aston Villa before the end of January.
Villains boss Paul Lambert reiterated that the England international would not be sold during the mid-season window despite his contract winding down.
However, The Mirror claims that Liverpool are ready to move for the midfielder in the next fortnight as they look for a successor to Steven Gerrard.
It is thought that manager Brendan Rodgers has earmarked Delph as the right fit for his team, but the Anfield outfit are said to be looking to wrap up a deal as soon as possible to avoid a fight for his signature.
Liverpool may face competition for Delph from Tottenham Hotspur and Merseyside rivals Everton.
