Kolo Toure talks up Christian Benteke strengths ahead of reported Liverpool move

Liverpool centre-back Kolo Toure talks up the qualities of Aston Villa frontman Christian Benteke ahead of his reported £32m move to the Anfield club.

Liverpool centre-back Kolo Toure has suggested that Christian Benteke would be a great addition to the Anfield club.

The Reds have made a number of new additions already this summer, and Brendan Rodgers soon hopes to unveil Villa striker Benteke as a proposed £32m deal edges closer.

According to Toure, the Liverpool boss has done some impressive business during the current window and the potential signing of Benteke could help to further the club's chances of success next season.

"He's so strong and powerful – we all know about his qualities. He's a goalscorer but his mental strength is very important," said Toure, according to the Daily Star.

"I've played against some good strikers who are mentally weak. Benteke isn't weak, he stands up for himself. No matter what happens on he pitch, he will perform.

"The club has done some unbelievable business this summer and it's going to be a big season for us."

Liverpool have already acquired the likes of James Milner, Roberto Firmino and Danny Ings ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
