Serie A champions Juventus have joined Liverpool in showing an interest in Sporting Lisbon winger Gelson Martins, according to a report.
The 22-year-old, also linked with a switch to Arsenal during the summer transfer window, is said to have a £53.5m release clause in his contract.
Portuguese outlet A Bola suggests that the Reds were put off by that figure when enquiring about Martins earlier this year, but they may still make an approach in January.
Liverpool now face competition from Juve, however, as they were impressed by the Portugal international's performance in last month's Champions League clash between the two clubs.
The report claims that Juventus will continue to closely monitor Martins over the next month, with an eye on making a concrete offer in the New Year.
