Filippo Inzaghi: 'Mario Balotelli exit will boost team spirit'

AC Milan head coach Filippo Inzaghi insists that his side's "team spirit" will grow following the departure of striker Mario Balotelli.

Filippo Inzaghi has said that his AC Milan side will gain "team spirit" once Mario Balotelli completes his move to Liverpool.

The Italian striker has been in Merseyside undergoing a medical with the club this weekend, and is expected to complete his £16m move early next week.

The Rossoneri's head coach told reporters: "When a player leaves, it means all the parties involved took the decision.

"We are certainly losing a great player, but we gain something more in team spirit and hunger. I wish Balo all the best at Liverpool."

Balotelli joined the Serie A side from Manchester City in 2013.
