Liverpool defender Jose Enrique wants to stay at the club and see out the remaining three years of his contract after being linked with a move away from the Reds.

Liverpool defender Jose Enrique is adamant that he wants to stay at the club next season.

The left-back has been linked with moves away from Anfield after reports suggested that the former Newcastle United man was deemed surplus to requirements by boss Brendan Rodgers.

"I haven't spoken with the manager about next season but I want to stay," Enrique told reporters.

"I am happy at this incredible club and in this city. The support we get from the fans is amazing and also from people inside the club who do so much for us.

"I still have three years on my contract and hopefully I can stay at this club for many years."

The 27-year-old made 35 appearances in all competitions for the Reds last season.
