Celtic and Rangers are reportedly prepared to do battle for the loan signing of Liverpool midfielder Harry Wilson.

Celtic and Rangers have reportedly decided to up their interest in signing Liverpool winger Harry Wilson.

Since Steven Gerrard became the new boss at Ibrox, Rangers have been linked with a loan approach for the Wales international, who impressed at Hull City during the closing months of the last campaign.

Hull are keen to secure another deal for the 21-year-old but according to The Sun, Celtic have joined the race to given Wilson regular first-team football.

Manager Brendan Rodgers is familiar with Wilson, with the midfielder being part of the youth system during his time at Anfield, and the Northern Irishman could offer the possibility of time in the Champions League.

Wilson has made just one substitute outing for Liverpool and is not expected to feature in Jurgen Klopp's plans for the upcoming season.
