Team News: Philippe Coutinho on Liverpool bench

Philippe Coutinho is named on the Liverpool bench as they welcome Sevilla in the Champions League.

Philippe Coutinho has been named on the Liverpool bench as they welcome Sevilla in the Champions League tonight.

The Brazilian has yet to feature for the Reds this term due to a back injury but is among the substitutes at Anfield for a rerun of the 2016 Europa League final.

Jurgen Klopp makes three defensive changes from the XI that started the side's 5-0 humiliation at Manchester City in the league on Saturday, with Loris Karius coming in for Simon Mignolet between the posts.

Joe Gomez ousts Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back, while Dejan Lovren replaces Ragnar Klavan as centre-back partner for Joel Matip and Alberto Moreno continues on the left.

Skipper Jordan Henderson marshals the midfield with assistance from Georginio Wijnaldum and Emre Can, while Klopp keeps faith in the front three of Mohamed Salah - fit after a sore throat - Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Mane saw red in that defeat four days ago following a challenge on City keeper Ederson but is free to play in Europe tonight and will begin his three-game domestic ban this weekend.

Other options on the bench for Klopp include Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Daniel Sturridge and James Milner.

For the visitors, Eduardo Berizzo makes five changes following the 3-0 victory over Eibar in La Liga on Saturday.

Nolito's absence due to a thigh injury means a recall for Joaquin Correa, who joins Wissam Ben Yedder and Jesus Navas in the front line.

Guido Pizarro and Ever Banega come in for Pablo Sarabia and Ganso in the midfield, while Gabriel Mercado and Sergio Escudero continue at right-back and left-back respectively.

There is a new pairing in the heart of the defence, meanwhile, as Nicolas Pareja and summer signing Simon Kjaer replace Clement Lenglet and the benched Daniel Carrico.

Liverpool: Karius; Gomez, Lovren, Matip, Moreno; Wijnaldum, Can, Henderson; Salah, Mane, Firmino
Subs: Mignolet, Milner, Coutinho, Sturridge, Klavan, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Robertson

Sevilla: Sergio Rico; Mercado, Pareja, Kjaer, Escudero; Pizarro, N'Zonzi, Banega; Navas, Ben Yedder, Correa
Subs: Corchia, Carrico, Krohn-Dehli, Soria, Sarabia, Muriel, Vazquez
