Philippe Coutinho misses out for Liverpool as the Reds welcome Huddersfield Town this afternoon.

Philippe Coutinho misses out for Liverpool as the Reds welcome Huddersfield Town in the sides' first league meeting since 1972.

The Brazilian is sidelined with an adductor problem, while Emre Can drops to the bench in the second of two changes from the side that were defeated 4-1 by Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

Daniel Sturridge comes in to form an attacking trio alongside Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah, while Georginio Wijnaldum takes a place in midfield after recovering from a knee injury.

David Wagner, meanwhile, makes just the one change to the Terriers lineup that ended a six-game winless run in the league with a surprise victory over Manchester United last time out.

Rajiv van La Parra starts on the right wing as Elias Kachunga drops to the bench. Also among the substitutes is Collin Quaner, following his recovery from a calf problem.

Liverpool: Mignolet; Gomez, Matip, Lovren, Moreno; Henderson, Milner, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Sturridge
Subs: Karius, Klavan, Robertson, Can, Grujic, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Solanke

Huddersfield Town: Lossl; Smith, Zanka, Schindler, Lowe; Hogg, Williams; Van La Parra, Mooy, Ince; Depoitre
Subs: Green, Malone, Kachunga, Cranie, Quaner, Mounie, Hadergjonaj
