Liverpool spurn a number of chances as they have to settle for a 1-1 draw against Paul Lambert's Norwich City at Anfield this evening.

Liverpool were forced to settle for a share of the spoils against Norwich City this evening, despite creating numerous chances throughout the match at Anfield.

The home side struck the woodwork on three occasions, with Martin Skrtel and Luis Suarez both denied by a combination of bar and post.

The goal finally arrived for Kenny Dalglish's side in first half stoppage time. Craig Bellamy was the scorer, seeing his effort deflect off Marc Tierney and past John Ruddy in the visitors' goal.

It was more of the same at the start of the second half from Liverpool, but they were unable to find a second goal.

That failure was duly punished on the hour mark by substitute Grant Holt, who headed Anthony Pilkington's cross past Pepe Reina.

Holt went close to adding his and Norwich's seconds moments later, but Reina made amends to deny the striker.

Dalglish introduced Andy Carroll into the match and it was the former Newcastle United striker who spurned the host's best chance to win the match. Captain Steven Gerrard produced a cross which Carroll met with his head, but the ball shaved the upright on its way wide in stoppage time.

There was still time for more one chance to fall to Suarez, but the Uruguayan was denied by Ruddy who tipped his scissor-kick effort over the bar.
