How Sheffield United could line up against Liverpool

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Sheffield United could line up for Sunday's Premier League clash with out-of-form champions Liverpool at Bramall Lane.

Sheffield United have suffered another significant centre-back setback in a season which has been beset by injuries in defence, much like their visitors Liverpool.

Chris Basham was the latest to pull up in last weekend's defeat to Fulham, and he will miss up to four weeks to join fellow defenders Jack O'Connell, John Egan and former Liverpool man Jack Robinson on the sidelines.

Omar Bogle was also injured in that damaging loss at Craven Cottage, picking up a leg injury during a challenge from Alphonse Areola which Chris Wilder felt should have resulted in a penalty for his side.

Bogle's injury is less serious, but he will still miss this match to make it eight first-team players out for the rock-bottom Blades.

Sander Berge faces a race against time to feature again this season, while Lys Mousset and Jack Rodwell are also absent to leave Wilder's options stretched thin for the visit of the champions.

Oliver Norwood is expected to come into the side to fill in for Basham, while up front David McGoldrick will also hope to be recalled as Sheffield United's leading scorer this season.

Indeed, the 33-year-old McGoldrick and 35-year-old Billy Sharp have combined for more than half of Sheffield United's league goals this season and could lead the line together for this one.

Sheffield United possible starting lineup: Ramsdale; Ampadu, Jagielka, Bryan; Baldock, Lundstram, Norwood, Fleck, Stevens; McGoldrick, Sharp
