Liverpool will need a victory over Aston Villa on Saturday in order to prevent a record seven defeats in eight games.

Liverpool are under pressure to snatch three points from Aston Villa this weekend as they remain in danger of recording their seventh Premier League defeat in eight games.

The biggest decision for Reds manager Kenny Dalglish is who will be placed in goal following Pepe Reina's red card offence during Liverpool's 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United last Sunday.

Alexander Doni is the expected replacement for the Spaniard, with Australian keeper Brad Jones likely to be waiting in the wings for the Merseyside club.

Following a disappointing return to his former club last weekend, Andy Carroll could be placed on the bench, which could make way for Dirk Kuyt to slot into midfield and provide support for Luis Suarez.

Meanwhile, Alex McLeish is waiting on the fitness of Charles N'Zogbia and Alan Hutton but Marc Albrighton may earn a starting spot following his impact during Villa's 4-2 loss to Chelsea.

Current form:

Liverpool: LWWLLL
Aston Villa: LDDWLL

Possible lineups:

Liverpool: Doni; Flanagan, Carragher, Skrtel, Enrique; Downing, Spearing, Gerrard, Henderson, Kuyt; Suarez

Aston Villa: Given; Warnock, Collins, Baker, Lichaj; Albrighton, Gardner, Ireland, Bannan; Weimann, Agbonlahor

Sports Mole says: 2-1
