Liverpool defender Kolo Toure admits that the coming season will be massive for him.

Kolo Toure has admitted that the forthcoming Premier League season will be "massive" for him.

The Ivory Coast international joined Liverpool on a free transfer earlier this summer, having made fewer than 40 appearances for Manchester City during the last two seasons.

The defender told LFC TV: "I'm still really hungry for more. I still think I can bring more in football.

"This season is going to be massive for me. I will just try to show that I am still one of the best defenders. For a defender, 32 is nothing and physically I feel great.

"For me, I just like to try to do things my way and I will try to do what I can, but I think it's going to be really difficult to replace [Jamie Carragher]. I will give my all and it's going to be a great challenge for me."

Toure missed Liverpool's 2-0 win over Melbourne Victory earlier this week with what the club have described as a minor injury.
