Swansea City: No Liverpool talks with Brendan Rodgers

Swansea City release a statement claiming that Liverpool have not been in contact with Swans boss Brendan Rodgers.

Swansea City have dismissed rumours linking manager Brendan Rodgers with the managerial vacancy at Liverpool.

Reports have claimed that the Northern Irishman is due to meet with the Reds' American owners from Fenway Sports Group this week.

"In the light of the latest speculation linking Liverpool with a move for Brendan Rodgers we would like to clarify the speculation in the press surrounding our manager Brendan Rodgers," said a statement released to Sky Sports News.

"We would like to confirm that there has been no contact from Liverpool and nothing has changed from our previous statement on the issue."

Rodgers previously turned down the chance to speak to Liverpool following the sacking of Kenny Dalglish.
