Brendan Rodgers yet to make decision on Daniel Sturridge fitness

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says that he will wait to make a decision on Daniel Sturridge's fitness ahead of Sunday's clash against Chelsea.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he is yet to decide on whether to include striker Daniel Sturridge in Sunday's match against Chelsea at Anfield.

The England international revealed earlier this week that he hopes to be fit for the potential Premier League title-deciding encounter.

However, Rodgers has claimed that his side can cope should Sturridge be ruled out of the match with a hamstring injury that he picked up during the Reds' 3-2 win over Manchester City on April 13.

"We will see," Rodgers told reporters. "We'll give it another 24 hours. He's working hard with the medical team, so we shall see.

"But if he's not fit, we've coped before. We've managed before without a number of players. We'll go into the game with confidence. We'll assess that over the next 24 hours."

Liverpool will lift their first league title since 1990 should they earn seven points from their final three fixtures.
