Report: Sean O'Driscoll to join Liverpool as assistant manager this week

A report suggests that Liverpool will announce the appointment of former Bristol City boss Sean O'Driscoll as their new assistant manager in the near future.

Liverpool will confirm the appointment of Sean O'Driscoll as their new assistant manager this week, according to a report.

The Reds parted company with Colin Pascoe and first-team coach Mike Marsh following the club's below-par performance in the Premier League last season.

O'Driscoll, a former Doncaster Rovers and Bristol City boss, emerged as the leading candidate to replace Pascoe, and is poised to leave his role as manager of England Under-19s to join Liverpool this week, reports The Mirror.

Pepijn Lijnders will also be promoted to the first-team staff, while the club are still eyeing a replacement for Marsh.
