Jan Molby: 'Daniel Sturridge can fire Liverpool'

Liverpool legend Jan Molby thinks that the Reds need to focus on scoring goals, something which the signing of Daniel Sturridge will aid.

Former Liverpool midfielder Jan Molby believes that the potential signing of Daniel Sturridge can help the Reds score the goals that they have been lacking.

Molby believes following rivals Manchester United's philosophy of outscoring any opponent could serve Liverpool well.

The 49-year-old also insisted that it will take time for Brendan Rodgers to stamp his style on the squad.

"We went into this season knowing a lack of goals was always going to be a problem and so it proved," Molby told the Daily Star.

"Manchester United show you what firepower can do. They concede so many goals but they still win games because they score so many.

"We all knew this was a long-term project Brendan Rodgers took on and he's going to need another two or three transfer windows to get the squad he wants."

Liverpool take on Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road this afternoon.
