New Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has said that he is looking forward to fighting for his place at Anfield.
The Belgian, 25, completed his move from Sunderland this evening and says that competing against Pepe Reina and Brad Jones for a place in Brendan Rodgers's starting lineup is a "good thing".
"I've been in big competitions wherever I've been - in Belgium with the national team and in Sunderland with Craig Gordon and Keiren Westwood, who are international goalies. Now it's the same again with Pepe and with Brad," he told Liverpool's website.
"It's only a good thing - to be competitive and to train as hard as you can, it can only bring the best out of you."
Liverpool didn't disclose the length of Mignolet's contract but described it as "long term".
