Jurgen Klopp: 'Everton may struggle with busy schedule'

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp suggests that Everton may not be ready to handle the demands of still being in multiple competitions at the tail end of the season.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has suggested that Everton could struggle with their busy schedule in the closing weeks of the season.

The Toffees travel to Anfield for the Merseyside derby on Wednesday in what will be their fourth game in the space of 11 days, while they will then take on Manchester United in an FA Cup semi-final this weekend.

Liverpool's participation in the Europa League and League Cup mean that they have faced many midweek games already this season, and Klopp believes that they will be better suited to handling the quick turnaround than their local rivals.

"I know all about Everton and have met a lot of people and it's a big and very successful club in the past, but I don't know exactly what the situation is exactly there with the semi-final coming up," he told reporters.

"They are not used to, at the end of the season, playing two games a week too often. Last week they had this situation, this week they have this situation, at the end of these two weeks it is a pretty important game for them.

"But I don't know too much about them so we should think only about our game, our line-up and understand our situation in the table."

Everton will be bidding for their first Anfield victory since 1999.
