Jordon Ibe: 'Jurgen Klopp slaps me'

Young Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe reveals that he has been slapped "three or four times" by manager Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe has revealed that he has been slapped "three or four times" by new manager Jurgen Klopp.

In an interview with The Independent, the 20-year-old said that the German applies a mixture of humour and tactile discipline when dealing with the younger players of the squad.

"He does it for encouragement, to get you going," Ibe told the newspaper. "He's slapped me three or four times now!

"I'm not the only one, though. Clyney (Nathaniel Clyne) too: I think he got it the worst after one game. There was a six-second Vine of it; you should have seen Clyney's face!"

Ibe, who has featured in all eight of Klopp's league games so far, also revealed that the former Borussia Dortmund boss claimed to his players that he had a "demon" inside him.

"He told us at the beginning that he's got that in him – to be like a demon," he said. "That was the word he used, 'demon'."

The Reds, who are currently ninth in the Premier League, next travel to high-flying Watford in Sunday's early afternoon kickoff.
