Steven Gerrard wants to win trophies with Los Angeles Galaxy

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard sets his sights on adding to his trophy cabinet after his move to the Los Angeles Galaxy in July was confirmed by the club.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has set his sights on adding to his trophy cabinet after his move to the Los Angeles Galaxy was confirmed.

The former England skipper, 34, has agreed to join the MLS outfit when he ends his 25-year association with the Reds at the end of the season.

Head coach Bruce Arena revealed earlier today that Gerrard would be joining the California outfit, and the club have now confirmed that the midfielder will become one of their three designated players in July.

"I'm very excited to begin the next chapter of my career in the United States with LA Galaxy," Gerrard told Galaxy's official website.

"The Galaxy are the most successful club in Major League Soccer history and I am looking forward to competing for more championships in the years to come. My discussions with Bruce Arena [president] Chris Klein were extremely positive and the future of the team is very bright.

"I am committed to helping the LA Galaxy compete for trophies and to having an impact in Los Angeles and I will give my all for the club. In the meantime, I will continue to give everything for Liverpool for the remainder of this season before joining up with the Galaxy."

Gerrard has won the Champions League, two FA Cups, three League Cups, two European Super Cups, the UEFA Cup and the Community Shield since making his first-team debut at Anfield in 1999.
