Fowler: 'Liverpool need Rodgers'

Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler believes that Brendan Rodgers will be a success at Anfield as long as he is given time to get it right.

Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler believes that Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is the right man to take the club forward.

The Northern Irishman has yet to secure a victory in the Premier League so far this season and the ex-Swansea City manager came under slight pressure after the club failed to bring in a replacement after letting striker Andy Carroll leave on loan to West Ham United.

"With the players he has at his disposal he's doing alright," Fowler told BBC Radio Five Live.

"As long as everyone gives him time and has patience, that's what everyone at the club needs. It needs a little bit of stability and I reckon he is the man Liverpool need."

Liverpool, who go head to head with Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday, secured three points in the Europa League last night after overcoming Young Boys 5-3 in Switzerland.
