Daniel Sturridge, Mohamed Salah back in Liverpool training

Daniel Sturridge and Mohamed Salah could be involved against Manchester City at the weekend as both men took part in Liverpool training on Wednesday afternoon.

Liverpool have confirmed that attacking duo Daniel Sturridge and Mohamed Salah are back in training and could play a part against Manchester City at the weekend.

The Reds have been without star man Salah for their last two matches because of a groin strain, while Sturridge's absence stretches back to the beginning of December.

Ahead of Sunday's visit of Premier League leaders Man City, however, Liverpool have been handed a fitness boost as both men were involved in training at Melwood on Wednesday afternoon.

Salah has hit the ground running since arriving from Roma in a big-money transfer during the summer, scoring 17 goals in 21 league outings.
