How Liverpool could line up against Leicester City

Sports Mole looks at how Liverpool could line up for their midweek Premier League clash against Newcastle United.

Liverpool continue their Premier League title charge on Wednesday night with a home match against Leicester City.

The Reds won back-to-back matches ahead of their 11-day rest, which has seen them head to Dubai for some warm-weather training.

Jurgen Klopp will be grateful to see a couple of regulars return for selection in midweek, but there are also gaps that need plugging - namely at right-back.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Liverpool could line up against Leicester at Anfield.

Possible Liv XI vs. LEI

Out: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee), Joe Gomez (ankle), Trent Alexander-Arnold (knee), James Milner (suspended)
Doubtful: Dejan Lovren (hamstring), Georginio Wijnaldum (knee), Virgil van Dijk (illness)

Alexander-Arnold and Gomez are out with knee and ankle injuries respectively, while Nathaniel Clyne was shipped out on loan earlier this month.

To make matters worse for Klopp the man tasked with temporarily filling in at right-back, the versatile Milner, picked up a red card in the win over Crystal Palace, so Fabinho is the most likely candidate to drop into the backline.

Klopp does have plenty of midfield cover, however, with Wijnaldum expected to return from a knee problem in time to feature.

Elsewhere, Lovren has returned to training after spending time on the sidelines but may be given more time before being thrown back in alongside van Dijk, who has himself struggled with illness.
