Daniel Sturridge trains with England ahead of Euro 2016 squad announcement

Daniel Sturridge boosts his chance of making England's 23-man squad for Euro 2016 after taking part in training on Monday following a calf injury.

Daniel Sturridge has boosted his chance of being named in Roy Hodgson's final England squad for Euro 2016 after taking part in training on Monday.

The Liverpool striker was a doubt for the 23-man party after he was left out of the matchday squad for a friendly against Australia on Friday due to a calf injury.

It was speculated that Sturridge could lose his spot at the European Championships to 18-year-old Marcus Rashford after the Manchester United forward became the youngest ever England player to score on his debut when he struck just three minutes into the Three Lions' 2-1 win over Australia.

However, Hodgson refused to rule out Sturridge as long as the 26-year-old could prove his fitness before Tuesday's midnight deadline.

It appears that the striker has recovered from his calf problem as he joined the rest of his international teammates on the training pitch in Watford this morning.

Meanwhile, Ryan Bertrand did not take part in the session as he was receiving treatment on a knock.
