Steven Gerrard plays down injury fears

Steven Gerrard says that there are no problems with his fitness going into Euro 2012.

England midfielder Steven Gerrard has insisted that he has no worries over his fitness going into Euro 2012.

The Liverpool captain endured a stop-start Premier League campaign that was mainly tainted by a hamstring injury. The 31-year-old only played 45 minutes of the Three Lions' 1-0 win in Norway on Saturday, but says that there are no problems with his condition.

"It was always the plan for me to play 45 minutes. I had a bit of a tight hamstring towards the end of the season," said Gerrard.

"I missed a couple of games towards the end. But I'm fine, I've come through 45 minutes and I'm raring to go next week."

Gerrard made 28 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool last season, scoring eight goals.
