Leicester City are reportedly looking to offload Islam Slimani before the European transfer window closes at the end of the month.
The 30-year-old was signed from Sporting Lisbon for a club-record £30m in 2016 but has failed to find the kind of form that saw him command that fee two years ago and now the Foxes are said to be prepared to accept just £18m for him this summer.
According to the Leicester Mercury, the delay on any movement for the Algerian is down to the club actively pursuing a sale, rather than a loan.
While the English transfer window shuts on August 9 this summer, internationally it remains open until the end of the month – something the likes of Sporting, Besiktas, and Fenerbahce are hoping to take advantage of.
Fenerbahce allegedly set a deadline of last night to secure a loan for Slimani but Sporting are said to be happy to wait it out until the end of the window to sign the player.
