Huddersfield Town bolster defensive ranks with Ben Chilwell

Ben Chilwell swaps Leicester City for Huddersfield Town on a short-term loan deal, providing cover at the back for new boss David Wagner.

Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell has joined Huddersfield Town on a youth loan deal.

The 18-year-old will remain in place at the John Smith's Stadium until January 3 to gain further experience.

Chilwell was recently called up to the England Under-21s squad for the first time, but did not feature in Monday evening's match against Switzerland.

Having now strengthened his defensive ranks, new Terriers boss David Wagner told the club's official website: "We had the chance to bring Ben in on a short-term basis into the squad.

"This is important with upcoming games, plus the international commitments and travelling time away from the club that Jason Davidson has had."

Chilwell has featured just once for Leicester this season, playing the full 90 minutes in last month's League Cup penalty shootout defeat to Hull City.
