Brighton remain unbeaten in 2012 with a win at Elland Road.

Brighton secured a late winner to maintain their unbeaten start to 2012 with a 2-1 win at Leeds United this afternoon.

Alan Navarro and Kazenga LuaLua had a couple of chances go wide of the mark for the visitors in a first half in which both sides lacked cutting edge in front of goal. Ross McCormack looked liveliest for the home side, but was unable fire his side ahead.

Leeds keeper Andrew Lonergan was called into action with ten minutes gone in the second half as on-loan Wolves striker Sam Vokes went close for the visitors.

Substitute Craig Mackail-Smith broke the deadlock with less than 15 minutes to go, coming off the bench and heading the ball into the back of the net from close range following Vicente's corner kick.

However, opposite number Luciano Becchio hit back within a matter of minutes with a headed goal of his own from Robert Snodgrass's corner at the other end to level the score.

With little time left on the clock, Alan Navarro was able to make it two from the edge of the area, firing his shot underneath Lonergan to seal the win.
