Reading have insisted that any approach for their academy manager Eamonn Dolan will not be welcomed.
The 46-year-old has been heavily linked with the vacant Leeds United post, and Reading initially refused to comment on the speculation.
However, Royals director of football Nick Hammond has now looked to silence the rumours.
"Eamonn has done an incredible job since taking over from Brendan Rodgers and we hope he will be a big part of our club for many years to come," Hammond told the club website.
"He has a fantastic relationship with our manager Nigel Adkins and we do not welcome any approaches from any club for our key staff. We hope this is the end of the matter."
Dave Hockaday and Gary McAllister have also been suggested as possible new bosses at Elland Road.
