Former Forest Green Rovers manager Dave Hockaday is the new bookmakers' favourite for the vacant Leeds United post.
Following Brian McDermott's departure late last night, academy boss Benito Carbone was the early favourite, but Leeds owner Massimo Cellino said that he will remain in charge of the youngsters.
Hockaday, 56, is now as short as evens at some bookies, with Gianfranco Zola also fancied to take over at Elland Road.
Hockaday, who played for Blackpool, Swindon Town, Hull City and Shrewsbury Town in his career, has been out of a job since leaving Forest Green last October.
