Preview: Istanbul Basaksehir vs. Kasimpasa - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Saturday's Turkish Super Lig clash between Istanbul Basaksehir and Kasimpasa, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Unbeaten in seven league matches, Istanbul Basaksehir welcome Kasimpasa to the Fatih Terim Stadium on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the away side are looking to continue their recent mini revival having not lost any of their last three matches.

Match preview

Basaksehir triumphed away from home for the third game on the spin courtesy of a 3-0 victory over Hatayspor on Sunday.

A pair of first-half penalties from Danijel Aleksic coupled with Stefano Okaka's stoppage-time strike propelled Emre Belozoglu's men to all three points.

The Orange-Navy Blues are fifth in the Super Lig table at the moment, just two points shy of second-placed Konyaspor.

Up next is a clash versus an opposing side who have not won any of the last four meetings between the sides, losing each of the last two.

Having picked up 16 points from a possible 24 on home turf this term, Saturday's hosts are favourites to emerge victorious at the sound of the final whistle in Istanbul this weekend.

Kasmipasa played out a second consecutive league draw on Friday in a 1-1 stalemate versus Besiktas.

Cihat Arslan's men trailed since as early as the 12th minute thanks to Can Bozdogan's opener before restoring parity eight minutes from time through Umut Bozok.

The Apaches remain bottom but one in the standings and are now a whopping seven points adrift of safety after 15 rounds of matches.

One of three teams yet to record an away victory this term, Saturday's visitors are faced with another stern test on the road where they have not fared well so far.

Team News

Edin Visca grabbed a late leveller for the hosts in the last edition of this fixture, and the Bosnian will be looking to come up trumps once again.

Thirty-two-year-old Stefano Okaka currently leads the way in terms of goals for Basaksehir with his eight in 12 appearances so far and is one to keep an eye on.

Following his side's impressive display against more illustrious opponents last time out, Arslan is likely to stick with the same starting XI that took to the field against Besiktas.

Nicolai Jorgensen is yet to find the back of the net since August but the ex-Feyenoord man is expected to lead the visitors' attack once again.

Istanbul Basaksehir possible starting lineup:
Sengezer; Kaldirim, Ndayishimiye, Duarte, Sahiner; Tekdemir, Ozcan, Aleksic; Visca, Chadli, Okaka

Kasimpasa possible starting lineup:
Tekin; Aytac, Donk, Bruma, Hadergjonaj; Erdogan, Haspolat, Hajradinovic, Eysseric; Bozok, Jorgensen

SM words green background

We say: Istanbul Basaksehir 2-0 Kasimpasa

The onus is more on the home side to take control of proceedings and secure all three points against a struggling away side. We expect Basaksehir to get the job done in relatively comfortable fashion.
