Juventus director-general Giuseppe Marotta says that the club must offload two strikers before the summer transfer window closes.

Juventus director-general Giuseppe Marotta has claimed that the club are looking to offload two strikers before the summer transfer window closes.

Carlos Tevez arrived at the Turin club from Manchester City for £10m and was joined by Spaniard Fernando Llorente, who left Athletic Bilbao on a free transfer.

The Serie A champions also have the Italian trio of Alessandro Matri, Fabio Quagliarella and Sebastian Giovinco on their books, along with Montenegrin centre-forward Mirko Vucinic.

"I will not name names, but at this moment we have six strikers," Marotta told Sky Sport Italia. "We need to be left with four. We are in the phase of removing excess players from the squad."

Liverpool and Norwich City have been linked with both Matri and Quagliarella, while Everton are believed to be in the running to sign the 28-year-old.
