Club legend Alessandro del Piero backs Juventus to retain Serie A title

Club legend Alessandro del Piero backs Juventus to retain their Serie A title, despite a winless start to the season including defeats to both Udinese and Roma.

Juventus legend Alessandro del Piero has backed his old club to retain their Serie A crown, despite a poor start to the season.

The reigning champions sit in 16th place in the league table following one draw and two defeats in their opening three fixtures.

Del Piero, however, has warned the league's top clubs of the danger of writing off the Old Lady's chances of success this season.

"Juventus have the time and the means to recover. Roma and Inter cannot count them out just yet," the 40-year-old told Quotidiano Sportivo.

The Bianconeri play away to Genoa on Sunday.
