Friday's international friendly predictions including Japan vs. Uruguay

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for today's international friendlies, including Japan vs. Uruguay.

Australia vs. Ecuador (Friday, 9.00am)

Australia host Ecuador at Sydney's CommBank Stadium on Friday morning in a cross-continental friendly between two of the bright sparks from the Qatar World Cup.

The Socceroos produced an almighty upset by advancing to the round of 16 of the tournament for the first time in 16 years, while Ecuador narrowly missed out on a place in the knockout stages despite opening the competition with a win against the host nation.

We say: Australia 1-0 Ecuador

Back in front of their home fans for the first time since an inspiring World Cup performance - and just a matter of months before the women's World Cup is held on the continent - Australia should be able to get the better of an Ecuador team stripped of their talismanic captain Valencia.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Japan vs. Uruguay (Friday, 10.30am)

Japan and Uruguay will return to the field for the first time since their respective 2022 World Cup campaigns on Friday, with the two teams set to lock horns in a friendly encounter.

Uruguay failed to make it out of the group stage in Qatar, but Japan progressed to the last-16 stage of the tournament, ultimately losing to Croatia on penalties following a 1-1 draw.

We say: Japan 1-1 Uruguay

This has all of the makings of an entertaining contest, with both teams looking to the future. There is not an awful lot between the two sides in terms of quality, though, so we are expecting a tight match, which ultimately could end with a share of the spoils.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

South Korea vs. Colombia (Friday, 11.00am)

Following their 2022 World Cup campaign South Korea will be back in action on Friday when they face Colombia in an international friendly.

The visitors are undefeated in their previous three matches, while South Korea are looking to immediately get back to winning ways.

We say: South Korea 2-0 Colombia

South Korea are a strong attacking unit and while Colombia boast a quality team the fact that the hosts have a brand new manager should help to get them a positive result here.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Uzbekistan vs. Bolivia (Friday, 6.00pm)

Uzbekistan and Bolivia will do battle for the first time in international football on Friday, when they meet in a friendly in Saudi Arabia.

Both nations are playing for the first time in 2023, after most recently being in action last November.

We say: Uzbekistan 2-1 Bolivia

Uzbekistan find themselves in a positive run and are certainly becoming a resolute side with qualities across the pitch.

We see them triumphing over a struggling Bolivia team who are missing many key players, with Shomurodov likely punishing La Verde's shaky defence.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Saudi Arabia vs. Venezuela (Friday, 7.00pm)

For the second time in less than a year, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela will meet in an international friendly to be played at Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium in Jeddah on Friday.

The Green Falcons are coming off an early exit in the group stage of the Gulf Cup in January, losing their final two matches of that tournament, while the Venezuelans have only dropped one of their previous six exhibition encounters, defeating the Saudis 1-0 last June.

We say: Saudi Arabia 1-0 Venezuela

Although the Venezuelans play with much less fear in friendlies than games that count, the Green Falcons are in an element they know well and should benefit from the home crowd and an environment they are comfortable in, so we believe they will have the edge on Friday.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.
