Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy wants "two or three more players"

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy is hoping to add up to three players to his squad before the end of the summer transfer window.

Mick McCarthy has revealed that he would like to add "two or three more players" to his Ipswich Town squad this summer.

The likes of Brett Pitman and Ainsley Maitland-Niles have already arrived at Portman Road, but despite having insisted that he is "happy" with the options that are available to him, McCarthy conceded that further additions are required.

"I look at the team photo compared to the one we had this time last year and I'm a lot more happy," McCarthy told the East Anglian Daily Times.

"I've got 15 hard-nosed pros in the outfield. I'm pleased with the squad but I'm trying to add more - hopefully two or three more players."

McCarthy made the revelation after his side had defeated Cambridge United 3-2 in a pre-season friendly last night.
