Grant Ward passed fit for Ipswich Town

Grant Ward is passed as fit for Ipswich Town's midweek encounter with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Grant Ward has been passed fit for Ipswich Town's visit of Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday evening.

The summer signing limped off the field during the weekend's 1-0 loss at Leeds United but resumed training today as manager Mick McCarthy is forced to deal with injuries to seven other players.

"Wardy is okay, thankfully. He trained today so he should be alright for Brighton," McCarthy told the Town website. "Teddy Bishop is having his nose reset tonight. He will have to wear his mask. He looks like something from the Phantom of the Opera. It's not the best preparation for a game but he's in the squad.

"We are missing seven others though and I suppose you could call it an injury crisis. On top of Tommy Smith (back), David McGoldrick (ankle), Luke Hyam (knee) and Luke Varney (hamstring), we have lost Brett Pitman from Saturday with an ankle injury and Adam Webster with a hamstring.

"Jonny Williams trained with us today and it's great to have him around the place but he won't be available until after the international break. Kevin Bru and Freddie Sears are also carrying niggles so it's a bit cramped in the treatment room to say the least."

The Tractor Boys are currently 14th in the Championship table after the first nine games of the campaign.
