Half-Time Report: Ipswich Town level with Brighton & Hove Albion

Ipswich Town and Brighton & Hove Albion are goalless at half time in their Championship clash despite numerous chances for both sides.

Ipswich Town and Brighton & Hove Albion have reached half time with neither side able to break the deadlock in a first 45 minutes full of enterprising play.

Both sides showed their attacking intent in the early stages, but the best chances fell to Ipswich's Paul Anderson who failed to get two headers on target in as many minutes.

The hosts keeper Dean Gurken was soon called into action as he needed to keep out Danny Holla's effort as it was heading for the bottom right corner.

Brighton tried to break the deadlock before half time, but Kazenga LuaLua, Craig Mackail-Smith and Sam Baldock all missed chances to give Sami Hyypia's side the lead.

With the break approaching, Ipswich were inches from scoring when David McGoldrick's free kick drifted just past David Stockdale's post.

Mick McCarthy's side can pull closer to the playoff places with victory tonight, but their opponents are only a point behind in the Championship table.
