Inter Milan striker Gabriel Barbosa admits that he would be interested in a move to the Premier League in January amid reported interest from Everton.

Inter Milan striker Gabriel Barbosa has confirmed that he would be interested in joining a Premier League club during the January transfer window.

Gabriel was once regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Brazilian football, being hailed as Neymar's heir and given the nickname 'Gabigol' due to his goalscoring exploits.

However, the 22-year-old's progress has slowed since his move to Inter Milan two years ago, eventually being loaned out to Benfica and then back to boyhood club Santos, where he has begun to rediscover his goalscoring touch.

The Brazil international's improved form is understood to have attracted the attention of Everton, West Ham United and Crystal Palace, who are willing to give him a fresh start in European football.

"They are all important clubs with top quality players. Hopefully everything will be good for everyone if we reach an agreement," Gabriel told the Daily Mail.

"There are many things involved, mainly Inter Milan as they hold my rights. It hasn't been decided yet, but it is very unlikely I will remain in Brazil. The Premier League always had great strikers and it is a joy to watch on TV.

"It is very competitive, fast-paced and dynamic, with loads of title contenders. There is quality everywhere, that's why everybody loves it and I am no different. It attracts me a lot. I follow the Brazilians, sometimes we talk and all of them love playing in the Premier League."

Gabriel, who has scored 22 goals in 38 games during his current loan spell at Santos, is valued at around £18m.
