Hull City manager Steve Bruce has admitted that the club have failed to agree a deal with Blackburn Rovers for the signature of Jordan Rhodes.
The Premier League outfit turned their attention to the 24-year-old after selling Shane Long to Southampton for a reported £12m fee.
Last week, Blackburn rejected an offer from the Tigers for Rhodes, who scored 25 goals for the Championship side last season.
In this morning's press conference, Bruce confirmed that a possible transfer is "dead and buried" and the club are moving on to other targets with five days left before the window closes.
Yesterday, defender Michael Dawson signed for Hull from Tottenham Hotspur on a three-year deal.
