Steve Bruce: 'No nerves'

Hull City boss Steve Bruce is confident that the club will secure promotion to the Premier League by beating Barnsley at the weekend.

Hull City boss Steve Bruce has insisted that nerves will not get the better of his side in their Championship clash with Barnsley at the weekend.

Should the Tigers record all three points on Saturday, they would ensure promotion to the Premier League. However, their place may already be secure depending on Watford's result against Leicester City on Friday.

"We'll be better off for Friday, no doubt about it. You learn to deal with these things," he told the Hull Daily Mail.

"Every side is feeling the pressure at this stage of the season. We're seeing it every week. Teams you'd expect to win are dropping points. We've seen it all season, but especially now.

"It's important we stay focused and stay positive because we're the ones in a fantastic position. It wasn't easy with three games in six days, with two of those away from home, and perhaps that showed in Friday's game. No excuses though, we know we're capable of more."

Hull stumbled to a 0-0 draw against Bristol City last time out.
